I gave it 4 stars because the blocks and the pinboard have a lot of space between them that is blacked out. I took a picture of myself and couldnt see anything other than some solid colors in each square.

Idk why the other reviews are bad, i mean i love this app, it will entertain me for hours! And what else could you do with a dollar, buy a candy bar? Or buy the best app for a camera evar? Totally worth it.

this app is extremely bad. after two mimutes of use it turns into an all black screen

A complete waste of money. Pass this up.

Very creative. Love the subtle alpha shading, mimics a real kaleidoscope. Would love a couple small features: 1) Dont spin the whole screen, just spin the acquired image. 2) Add simulated bits of glass like in a real kaleidoscope. 3) Allow recording of the effected image. 4) Allow turning the light on the back camera. All those are minor. 5-star app. Awesome, responsive and cool!

I have to admit, its a .99 gem. Lots of fun, clever interactive effects. And a cool way to show off how your iPhone 4 does stuff we couldnt do easily not that long ago on expensive workstations…

Please dont buy this it just goes to a black screen when you open the app I deleted it right away after I got it!

Hoped it was VIDEO, but fun enough sending photos to have friends try to figure out what the heck they are looking at, most of the time, theyre looking at twisted, kaleidoscopic photos of parts of my face or body looking very odd indeed, and thats fun, right? Little kids love it too.

Interesting effects however it would be nice if you can manipulate some parameters (I.e. Density, color casting, etc.)

Hah, I knew theyd add video! They also enhanced the interactive features. For a buck this is incredible value. My only complaint is the incredible battery drain. Its understandable for such a powerful video processor, but, for example, the 30 second video clip drains a whole 5% of my battery. Youve been warned, but go buy it! It transforms any scene or walk into incredible entertainment.

This is one of the most impressive implementations of the iphones technology that Ive seen, and its just INCREDIBLY FUN! Regardless of what older reviews say, this does have video recording, and it does work very well now. Fantastic app.
